Direct Messages

Direct Messages (DMs) are private one-on-one chats with other members.

Your Inbox​

The Messages list shows your conversation threads, sorted by most recent. Each shows the last message preview, a time stamp, and an unread badge if there's something new. Tap the new-message button to open a searchable member picker.

Chatting​

A DM thread is a simple chat:

  • Send text and up to one photo per message
  • See a typing indicator and read status
  • The view auto-scrolls to the newest message

Message Retention​

How long your DM history is kept depends on your tier:

  • Free — recent messages (roughly the last 30 days); older ones gently fade away
  • Premium — messages are kept indefinitely

A notice in the thread tells you when older messages will fade.

Safety & Transparency​

  • To protect against spam, there's a gentle rate limit on messaging brand-new accounts during their first couple of weeks.
  • If a little's caregiver has DM transparency enabled, the little will see a banner letting them know their caregiver can read the conversation. See Parental Controls.
  • You can always block or report someone you don't want to hear from.
