🧸 Going solo

Everything in the Academy works without a caregiver. The core course is written as if you have one, and every lesson that needs a second person has a solo version for you.

For littles

No grown-up yet? That's okay. You can do the whole Academy by yourself, and a grown-up can join you any time later.

What changes when you're solo

  • You confirm your own missions. Missions that would need a caregiver's "yes" are confirmed by you, on the honor system.
  • You sign your own gates. At each gate you read a short checklist and check each line only if it's true on ordinary days. See Gates and level exams.
  • Lessons show solo versions. Where a lesson or story mentions your caregiver, you see how to do the same thing alone.
  • Your forever contract is signed by you alone at graduation.
  • Nobody can hold you at a level. Holds come only from a headmaster.

The Solo Baby add-on

If you choose I'm solo for now during enrollment, Miss Honeydew suggests the Solo Baby add-on. It teaches you to run your own little life: checks on a timer, a notebook that plays the caregiver, and how to be ready when a caregiver arrives. It's a suggestion; you decide.

Bringing a caregiver in later

A caregiver can join you at any level.

  1. Link with them on the main site.
  2. On your Map, use the caregiver card to invite them.
  3. Once they co-sign your oath, they're your headmaster. You stay at the level you're at.

See Caregivers as headmasters.

Pathway for solo littles

Not sure where to start? The Going solo pathway in the Course catalog is a short reading list in a good order. See Electives and pathways.
