πŸͺ Electives and pathways

Electives are short courses off the main path, like field trips. Anyone can take them, enrolled in the Academy or not, and they never change your Academy lessons or gates.

For littles

Electives are little extra classes, like a field trip. Finish one and you get a gold star and a certificate!

Take an elective

  1. Open Electives from the sidebar (or from the Course catalog).
  2. Pick a course and choose Start course.
  3. Lessons work like Academy lessons: teaching, a story, an activity and a real-life mission. Missions work whether you have a caregiver or not.
  4. When every lesson is done, you get one gold star and a certificate you can print.

You can open any lesson again whenever you like.

Pathways

Not sure where to start? A pathway is a short reading list across everything the Schoolhouse teaches (electives, the Academy or one of its add-ons, the Staffroom and the older courses), in a good order, with a line on why each step comes next. Your progress shows on each step.

There are four: New to diapers, New caregiver, Going solo and Building a dynamic. Find them in the Course catalog.

Courses made by caregivers

The Course catalog also lists Made by caregivers: short courses written by community caregivers and approved by the Little Academy. They work just like electives, including the gold star and certificate. See Writing a course.
