AI Autopilot
AI Autopilot is the paid flagship of the Living Dynamic: an AI that helps run the gentle parts of the day like a real, present caregiver — morning plans, check-ins, reminders, praise — always within scopes the caregiver controls, always with soft daily limits so it can never spam or overreach.
Set it up in Dynamic Settings → 🤖 Autopilot (the dashboard card takes you straight there).
The dashboard Autopilot card
Paid members (Pro and up) see an Autopilot card on their dashboard — a one-tap way to find and open the feature. Caregivers see "AI Autopilot"; littles see "Your AI helper 🤖" with a note that their caregiver's AI can gently help run their day.
What it does
Autopilot works in a daily rhythm:
- Morning — it reads the little's real day (schedule, chores due, points, recent mood, streak) and drafts a warm, doable day plan with a morning note.
- During the day — it acts like an attentive caregiver: check-ins when it's been a while, unprompted praise for good behavior, gentle reminders when the little is stalling, keeping the day's rhythm (meals, naps, bedtime).
- Evening — it writes a recap of how the day went.
Everything it does lands through the normal notification pipeline, so it looks and feels like real caregiver care.
Solo littles
Unlinked littles get the same magic — their AI caregiver persona is the operator, so the check-ins and praise come from their own AI caregiver.
Modes & tiers
Autopilot has three modes, and your subscription tier sets how far it can go:
| Mode | What happens | Who gets it |
|---|---|---|
| Suggest | Everything is drafted as one-tap suggestions for the caregiver to approve | Any paid tier |
| Run (autopilot-lite) | The AI executes the gentle, zero-consequence actions itself — check-ins, reminders, praise — up to 3 actions/day; everything else is drafted for one-tap approval | ⚡ Pro and up |
| Full | The AI runs the whole day — up to 14 actions/day across all its tools | 👑 Premium (and Nightlight) |
Free members don't have Autopilot — but the deterministic recipe toggles and Playbooks below give every caregiver light automation.
Safety & limits
Autopilot is built to be trustworthy:
- Scopes — the caregiver chooses exactly which areas the AI may touch (check-ins, reminders, praise, chores, discipline…). Anything outside an enabled scope is simply dropped. Discipline is off unless explicitly enabled.
- Quiet hours — set a quiet window and Autopilot won't act during it.
- Per-tool daily caps — e.g. at most 2 consequences a day (and at least 3 hours apart), diaper checks at least ~2 hours apart.
- Pacing — at least 25 minutes between any two actions, and at most 2 actions per evaluation tick.
- Graceful degradation — if the AI is unreachable, the little still gets a kind fallback morning note; nothing ever crashes their day.
Simple Autopilot recipes
Separate from the AI, the caregiver tools include four deterministic, AI-free recipe toggles (per baby):
| Recipe | What it does |
|---|---|
| ✅ Missed chore nudge | Evenings, if chores due today are still open, nudges you to send a gentle reminder |
| 💝 Friday care package | Friday reminder to send your little a care package |
| 🍼 Low stock alert | Pings you when the diaper stash runs low |
| 🌙 Bedtime wind-down | A wind-down nudge as bedtime approaches |
Each recipe fires at most once per day. Solo littles run these for themselves, with the copy flipped to second person.
🪄 Playbooks
Recipes grew into Playbooks — composable IF → THEN cards ("IF the mood turns rough THEN send a comfort note + 5 points"). Pick from prebuilt cards or build your own; a linked pair shares one playbook deck, and solo littles run the same deck with their AI caregiver as the executor. Playbooks are deterministic and AI-free, with a small tier-aware daily budget so they never spam.
Autopilot never replaces a caregiver — it's a helping hand for the hours you can't be there. Suggestions always show why the AI proposed them, and you can turn the whole thing off with one switch.
