Find your way aroundโ€‹

The masthead at the top has:

  • The five sections: ๐Ÿ“ฐ News & Announcements, ๐Ÿ“– Lifestyle & Guides, ๐ŸŒŸ Spotlight & Caregiver Corner, ๐ŸŽ‰ Fun & Community and โœจ Star Signs.
  • ๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Archive: every edition.
  • ๐Ÿ“Œ Noticeboard: community notices.
  • ๐Ÿ”– Clippings: stories you saved (signed in).
  • A Searchโ€ฆ box.

Writers also see โœ๏ธ Editor. Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on a Mac) for the quick menu, which also links to Funnies & Puzzles.

The front pageโ€‹

The front page is the newest edition:

  1. ๐Ÿ“– Continue reading takes you back to the story you were in the middle of.
  2. The edition number and title, and a button to let Scoop read tonight's edition aloud.
  3. The Lead Story, then the stories in each section. Weekly columns show only their newest week, with a link to earlier weeks.
  4. On the side: From the Editor, The Back Page โ€” ๐ŸŽฒ Funnies & Puzzles, ๐Ÿ’ž The Hearts Column, ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ Paper Route, the ๐Ÿ“ฃ Community Digest, and a list of every edition.

The date in the masthead follows your own clock.

Editions, sections and the archiveโ€‹

  • Editions are numbered issues. Open one to read its stories grouped by section, This Week's Star, the classified ads, and notices from the Noticeboard. Use โฎ and โญ to step between editions.
  • Sections list every story in that section across all editions, including older weeks of the weekly columns.
  • ๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Archive lists every edition. When there are several years, you can filter by year.

Weekly columnsโ€‹

Some columns update by themselves every Monday:

  • This Week in the Hub, a round-up of the week's top community posts, awards and events. The same round-up fills the ๐Ÿ“ฃ Community Digest box on the front page.
  • Little Star Signs, a playful horoscope for all twelve signs.

Type in the Searchโ€ฆ box. The Times searches story titles, summaries and text. There are no filters.

Get the paper deliveredโ€‹

When a new edition arrives, Scoop also greets you with Extra! Extra! on your next visit.

Free and paidโ€‹

Reading, read-aloud for a single story, puzzles, the Noticeboard and letters are free. Paid tiers add:

  • Early Edition (Pro and Premium): read stories dated for tomorrow, today.
  • Print edition (Pro and Premium): a print-ready version of any edition.
  • Bedtime Broadcast (Premium): Scoop reads a whole edition, or all your clippings, back to back.

What's new in the Re-Imagined eraโ€‹

  • Edition 4, The Re-Imagined Issue. Its front-page story is "The New Nursery".
  • A tidier front page. Each weekly column folds to its newest week, every edition is listed, and the masthead date is on your own clock.
  • A Keep reading footer under every story.
  • Repairs. The weekly "This Week in the Hub" column keeps each week instead of overwriting the last, and evening publishes no longer land on tomorrow's date.
