💬 The Direct Line
The Direct Line is a private chat between you and your linked caregiver or little. Messages arrive instantly, right inside the main site.
Find it on 🌍 Our World → 💞 Us & Caregiver → 💬 Direct Line (called Chat in little mode), or in the Caregiver page's All features list. The page lives at caregiverbabyhub.com/chat.
This is where you can talk to your caregiver. Type a message, send a sticker, or share a picture.
Before you start
The Direct Line needs a link between a caregiver and a little. If you aren't linked, you'll see Nothing here yet and a Set up your link button. See Linking with your caregiver or little.
Send a message
- Type in the Say something… box.
- Tap send, or press Ctrl + Enter (⌘ + Enter on a Mac). Plain Enter starts a new line.
Messages can be up to 800 characters.
Stickers
Tap the Stickers button to pick from three packs: Feelings, I need, and Caregiver.
Reactions
Use the React to this message button on a message to react with 💗 😊 🥺 👍 🍼 or 😴.
Photos
Tap Send a photo to share a picture, up to 10 MB.
Notifications
When your person sends a message, you get a notification on the bell and a push, at most once an hour for a back-and-forth, so a busy chat doesn't flood your phone. Opening the chat marks their messages as read.
How long messages are kept
History fades after a set time. The bottom of the chat shows how long yours is kept.

The longer of your two plans wins. If one of you is on Premium, the whole conversation keeps 3 months.
When your oldest messages are within a week of fading, a banner says how many days are left, with a Keep them longer → link to Subscription.
Privacy
Only the two of you in the link can read your Direct Line. To learn what happens when a link ends, see End a link.
