Introductions
Once you are active, you wait for your matchmaker to introduce you to someone. Introductions are curated: you don't browse a list of people for them. (The Open Floor is a separate, optional place to browse.)
When an introduction arrives, read why the matchmaker picked them. Tap π Accept introduction if you want to say hi, or Pass if not. Passing is private and nobody gets told.
How introductions are chosenβ
- A matching algorithm looks at members who are active and have finished their questionnaire. It only considers people whose role, what they are looking for, age range, distance and other basics fit both ways, and never anyone you have blocked or already met through the Parlor.
- It drafts one or two possible pairings, each with a reason.
- Your matchmaker reads every draft. Nothing is sent to you unless the matchmaker approves it.
How many introductions you can hold open at once depends on your main-site tier: 1 on Free, 2 on Pro, and 3 on Premium or Nightlight. Open means waiting for answers or live.
When an introduction arrivesβ
You get a bell: Your matchmaker has an introduction for you.
- Open the Parlor. The introduction card explains why your matchmaker picked this person.
- Tap π Accept introduction or Pass.
- If you say yes first, you see You said yes β waiting on them. The other person gets a bell that someone said yes, without your name.
- When you both say yes, you both get Your introduction is live! Now you can see each other's alias and open the chat.
Names stay hidden until you both say yes. If either of you passes, nobody is told.
If nothing has arrived yet, the Parlor says No introductions yet. Good matches take time, and you get a bell the moment one arrives.
Your matchesβ
My Matches at /matches lists your live introductions. Tap one to open its chat.
The introduction chatβ
- Your matchmaker's opening message is pinned at the top, marked π© From your matchmaker (the label shows once).
- Until one of you writes, a daily icebreaker sits under that message. Tap β¨ Use this to send it, or another one π² for a different question.
- The header shows your match's alias and role. Their region and time zone aren't shown.
- Messages can be up to 800 characters.
- The safety line reminds you: take it slow and never share identifying details (real name, address, socials) until you are ready.
- At the bottom: π© Report, π Unmatch and π« Block. See Safety and privacy.
Guided first weekβ
For the first seven days of a live introduction, the chat suggests a prompt for each day to help you get to know each other.
The compatibility dossierβ
Each live introduction has a dossier written for the two of you:
- β¨ Shared sparks: things you have in common.
- 𧩠How you fit: how your answers line up.
- π¬ Conversation starters.
Premium and Nightlight members can ask for the full dossier, which adds Where you shine together, Gentle watch-outs and Ways to grow closer.
The dossier never shows real names, regions, ages, the age range you are looking for, or your private notes to the matchmaker.
Plan a dateβ
Use ποΈ Plan a date on a live introduction.
- Name the date, for example "Cozy Friday night in".
- Pick a time.
- Choose one or more activities from around the network: a Storytime co-dream, cooking together in the Kitchen, the Playroom's Our Room, a shared Vibe bedtime, or a Monitor care session. Or choose β¨ Our own thing and describe it.
Afterwards, the planner asks how it went. Tap a rating and add an optional private note. Your partner sees your rating, never your note.
The compatibility reportβ
Each live introduction also has a printable Compatibility Report, included with your membership. Open it from the introduction and use your browser's print option to save it as a PDF. The report leaves out your limits and anything private.
