The story page​

Under the headline you see the byline, the date, the edition number and roughly how long it takes to read. If the writer added a note, it appears in a box called ✍️ Why I wrote this.

Listen​

Tap 🔊 Read this to me and your device reads the story aloud in its own voice. If you stop, tap Resume listening to carry on. This is free for everyone.

Heart, save and comment​

Signed in, you can:

  • tap the ❤️ heart to show some love. The count reads, for example, "12 littles loved this". You earn 5 network points.
  • tap 🔖 Save for later to add it to your clippings.
  • leave a comment under 💬 Comments and tap Post comment 💬. You can delete your own comments.

Polls​

Some stories end with a reader poll. Tap an option to vote and see the results as percentages. You can tap another option to change your vote.

Letters​

Under each story you can write a letter to the editor about it. See Letters and community pages.

At the bottom, Keep reading links to the previous and next story in the same edition, plus three more from the same section.
