Letters and community pages

The Times has a few places where readers write too. Everything is checked by the editors before it is printed.

🍼For littles

You can write a letter to the newspaper, or pin a short notice on the Noticeboard. A grown-up editor reads it first, then it goes in the paper.

Letters to the Editor

About a story

1. Sign in and scroll to the bottom of the story.
2. Add your name if you like, then write your letter.
3. Tap Send letter ✉️. You see Thanks! Your letter is with the editors for review.

Approved letters appear under the story.

General letters

The ✉️ Letters to the Editor page at /letters shows published letters from readers. To write one:

1. Sign in and open /letters.
2. Fill in Your name or pen-name (optional), Subject (optional) and your letter.
3. Tap Send letter ✉️.

The Nursery Noticeboard

📌 Noticeboard holds short community notices, a bit like classified ads.

• Filter by 🗂️ All, 📣 Squad Recruiting, 🧸 Playdate ISO, 🎨 Art Trades, 🔎 Lost & Found or ✨ Whimsy.
• To post, sign in, choose a kind, and write up to 280 characters.
• An editor checks each notice before it is printed. Notices stay up for two weeks.

The newest notices also appear on each edition page.

The Hearts Column

💞 The Hearts Column at /hearts shares happy news about couples: a new match, an anniversary, or a celebration.

1. Sign in, open the Hearts Column and choose Share a heart.
2. Pick the kind (💘 New match, 🎂 Anniversary or 🎉 Celebration) and your linked partner, then write your note.
3. Your partner is asked to confirm. They can tap 💞 Yes, print it or Keep it just ours.
4. An editor approves it for print.

You need a linked partner on the main site to post a heart. Printed hearts are grouped by week.

Baby of the Week

Each edition can feature This Week's Star. If an editor invites you, you get a link to /interview, titled You're our Baby of the Week!

1. Answer the questions. Tap 💾 Save draft to finish later.
2. Tap Submit when you are done.
3. The editors write a short intro and publish your feature in the Spotlight section.

If you open /interview without an invitation, it says no interview is waiting for you yet.
