Letters to the Editor

Have something to say about a story? Write a letter to the editor.

Writing a Letterโ€‹

At the bottom of an article, you'll find the letters section. Write your letter and add an optional name to sign it, then submit. Your letter is sent to the editors for a quick review before it's published โ€” this keeps the letters page friendly and on-topic.

Reading Lettersโ€‹

Approved letters appear beneath the article they're about, so readers can see the conversation a story sparked.

For Editorsโ€‹

Editors and admins have a Letters page that acts as a review queue. Each pending letter shows the story it's about, the signer's name, and the text, with approve or reject buttons. Approved letters go live on the article; rejected ones are quietly dismissed.
