Install on iPhone and iPad
There is no App Store app. CaregiverBabyHub installs straight from Safari as a web app. You get its own icon, a full screen with no address bar, and (on the main site and the Companion) notifications.
- iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or newer. Check in Settings, then General, then Software Update.
- Open the app from its Home Screen icon. An iPhone only sends web notifications to an app that was added to the Home Screen and opened from there. A tab in Safari can't get them.
Use Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. After that, always open it from the new icon.
Pick your icon first (main site only)β
The main site has two install pages. Pick one before you add it, because the icon is saved when you add it.
| Icon | Open this page in Safari | Name under the icon |
|---|---|---|
| π§Έ Baby icon | caregiverbabyhub.com/install/baby | Caregiver Baby Hub |
| πΌ Discreet icon | caregiverbabyhub.com/install/discreet | Care Hub |
If you just add the normal home page, you get the baby icon.
Add it to your Home Screenβ
- Open Safari. Safari is the surest way. Other browsers on iPhone may not offer the option, or may add a plain bookmark instead.
- Go to the app's address (the install page above, or any app in the app list). Sign in if you want to; you can also sign in afterwards.
- Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up. On newer versions of iOS it may sit behind the β― button at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don't see it, tap Edit Actions or View More at the bottom of the list.
- If there is an Open as Web App switch, leave it on.
- Change the name if you like, then tap Add.
The icon now sits on your Home Screen like any other app. From now on, open it from there.
Turn on notificationsβ
On the main site:
- Open the app from the Home Screen icon.
- Go to Account (caregiverbabyhub.com/account), then the βοΈ Settings tab, then the π Notifications card.
- Under π± Mobile & Push Notifications, tap Enable Push.
- Tap Allow when your iPhone asks.
The main site may also ask on its own: π Want a little nudge now and then? Tapping Yes please does the same thing.
In the Companion, open the installed app and go to More, then Phone setup, then Notifications, then Turn notifications on. See The Companion.
Once allowed, you can pick which alerts you get on the same Settings tab (per-type alerts, how many reminders a day, quiet hours and Do Not Disturb). See Notifications.
Same account everywhereβ
Every CaregiverBabyHub app uses one account. Sign in with the same email and password you use on the main site. In most apps you are signed in already if you signed in to the main site in the same browser.
One thing to know on iPhone: each Home Screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari. So the first time you open a newly added icon, you may need to sign in once. After that it stays signed in.
Troubleshootingβ
There is no Add to Home Screen option. You are probably in another browser or inside an app's built-in browser (for example, a link opened from a chat app). Copy the address and open it in Safari.
Notifications never arrive.
- Open the app from the Home Screen icon, not from Safari.
- Check you are on iOS 16.4 or newer.
- Check Settings, then Notifications, find the app (Caregiver Baby Hub, Care Hub or Companion) and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
- Check Focus or Do Not Disturb on the phone, and quiet hours on your CBH Settings tab.
- Tap Enable Push again. If it already says Re-sync, tap that.
It opens in Safari, with an address bar. You opened a link instead of the icon. Close it and tap the Home Screen icon. If the icon itself opens Safari, delete it and add it again, with Open as Web App on.
I want to switch between the baby and discreet icon. Press and hold the icon, choose Remove App, then Delete from Home Screen. Open the other install page in Safari and add it again. Your account and data are not touched.
Removing itβ
Press and hold the icon, tap Remove App, then Delete from Home Screen. This only removes the icon. Your account and everything in it stay safe.
