Install on Windows and Mac

On a computer, CaregiverBabyHub works fine in a normal browser tab. Installing it gives it its own window, its own icon in the taskbar or Dock, and keeps it one click away. The main site, the Companion and the Dock install as real apps. The others can be pinned as shortcuts (see the app list).

For littles

Look for the little install button at the end of the address bar. Click it, then Install.

Chrome (Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook)โ€‹

  1. Open the app's address in Chrome.
  2. Look at the right end of the address bar for the Install icon (a small screen with a down arrow). Click it, then Install.
  3. No icon? Click the โ‹ฎ menu, then Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app. On older versions this is Install Caregiver Baby Hub right in the menu.

The app opens in its own window. On Windows it's in the Start menu and can be pinned to the taskbar. On a Mac it's in the Applications folder and Launchpad.

Microsoft Edge (Windows, Mac)โ€‹

  1. Open the app's address in Edge.
  2. Click the App available, Install icon in the address bar, then Install.
  3. No icon? Click the โ‹ฏ menu, then Apps, then Install this site as an app.

Safari on a Macโ€‹

On macOS Sonoma (14) or newer:

  1. Open the app's address in Safari.
  2. In the menu bar, click File, then Add to Dock. You can also click the Share button and choose Add to Dock.
  3. Change the name if you like, then click Add.

The app gets its own icon in the Dock and opens in its own window. It keeps its own sign-in, so you may need to sign in once.

Notifications on a computerโ€‹

On the main site, go to Account, then the โš™๏ธ Settings tab, then the ๐Ÿ”” Notifications card. Under ๐Ÿ“ฑ Mobile & Push Notifications, find Push on this device and click Enable Push. Click Allow when the browser asks.

  • Windows: check Settings, then System, then Notifications, and make sure Chrome or Edge (or the installed app) is allowed.
  • Mac: check System Settings, then Notifications, and allow the app or browser.

Notifications reach you when the browser or the installed app is running.

The Dock on a spare screenโ€‹

The Dock is made for an always-on screen, such as an old tablet or a small monitor. Install it the same way as the main site, and turn on keep the screen awake in its settings.

Same account everywhereโ€‹

All the apps use one account. Use the same email and password as the main site. If you are signed in to the main site in the same browser, most apps pick that up.

Removing itโ€‹

  • Chrome or Edge: open the app, click the โ‹ฎ or โ‹ฏ menu in its title bar, then Uninstall.
  • Safari (Mac): drag its icon out of the Dock, and delete it from your Applications folder.

Your account and data are not touched.
