Ask the Librarian
At the Reference Desk, Paige the library owl π¦ answers your questions using the books on the Library's own shelves, and shows you exactly which articles she used.
Open it from π¦ Ask in the top bar, or go to /ask.
Type your question for Paige and tap π¦ Ask Paige. She flies around the shelves and comes back with an answer and the books she found it in.
Ask a questionβ
- Type your question in the box. For example: "how do I prevent diaper rash?"
- Tap π¦ Ask Paige. While she looks, you see Checking the shelvesβ¦
- Read her answer. Under it, From the shelf π lists the articles she used. Tap one to read the whole thing.
Not sure what to ask? Tap one of the suggested questions. Ones marked π₯ are popular right now.
What Paige can and cannot doβ
- She answers only from the Library's own articles. If nothing on the shelves covers your question, she tells you she could not find it rather than guessing.
- She is not a doctor. Her answers are community knowledge, not medical advice.
- If your question sounds like you are in distress, she adds links to the Safety page and the crisis line (call or text 988 in the US and Canada).
