Live Translation

Dynamics cross borders — a French little with a German caregiver shouldn't need a translator app open next to CaregiverBabyHub. Live Translation automatically translates the free-text of your dynamic at read time, so each of you reads everything in your own language while the other wrote it in theirs.

Supported languages​

The app itself is available in six languages, and live translation works between all of them:

Your language is set in your account/profile settings — translation always targets the reader's language.

How it works​

  • Read-time, not write-time. Text is translated when it's displayed to you, in your language. The original is never changed — your caregiver's rule stays exactly as they typed it in their account; you simply see it rendered in yours.
  • Preset content is instant and exact. Built-in content (suggested rules, chores, and other presets) resolves straight from the app's professional translations — no machine translation involved.
  • Free-typed text is machine-translated by an AI translation service and cached, so the same rule doesn't get re-translated every time you open the page. After the first read, translations appear instantly.
  • Synced text is pre-warmed — when your partner's latest edits sync over, translation starts in the background so pages open already translated.

The 🌐 marker​

Every translated string gets a small 🌐 marker next to it. Tap it to flip between the translation and the original — handy when nuance matters (and in a dynamic, nuance often matters).

Where it applies​

Live translation covers the user-typed free-text of your dynamic — the things your partner writes that you need to read: rules, chores, routines, notes, and similar dynamic content across the app. App interface text (buttons, menus, headings) is handled separately by the app's normal six-language localization.

Turning it off​

Prefer to read everything as written? There's an auto-translate toggle in your Account settings. With it off, all text shows in its original language.

If the translation service is briefly unreachable, nothing breaks — you simply see the original text until it's back. Originals are always the source of truth.

Mixed-language couples: keep translation on and just write naturally in your own language. Your partner reads you in theirs, the 🌐 tap shows your exact words when they want them, and neither of you ever has to compromise on nuance.
