The five tabs

Everything the Companion can do has exactly one home. If a thing is about your body it is under Log. If it is something you are held to it is under Do. If it is words it is under Talk. The corner, Stop and Hide, is never a tab and is always there.

Todayโ€‹

Opens on one card. The card answers three things, stacked: what is happening now, what is next, and one thing that is true right now, such as a reminder that outranks everything else. Nobody lands on a dashboard.

Under the card:

  • The day rail. Your day as one timeline. Schedule blocks, chores, routines, meals, tracker entries and any running trip, in order.
  • Plans. What is coming.
  • What kind of day it is. The app reads whether today is a work day or a little day from your schedule, and offers add-only day templates.
  • The outbox strip, when something is waiting to send.

When you have just woken up, the top of the day becomes the morning check-in. It stays until you answer.

The end of the day counts things and rates nothing. There is no score anywhere.

Logโ€‹

Six equal tiles in one grid, and nothing else.

TileWhat it logs
ChangeA diaper change, in one tap. Wet, messy or both. A dry check is on this sheet too
PottyInto the Untraining app
DrinkOne tap through your own unit. A custom amount if you need it
FoodTick a meal off your plan, or log something off-plan. No calories, no verdict, no consequence
NapA sleep entry
MoodOne mood

Under the grid is a typed line. Write "changed, wet" or "drank 8oz water" in plain words and it is read on the phone with no server call. If it cannot read a phrase it says so and offers the ordinary tiles. See Logging.

Doโ€‹

What you are held to. Top to bottom, so a glance says what is expected and what is merely there.

  1. Today. The chores and routines that apply today. One tap to tick, or Start on a routine's row. The one happening now comes first, then what is open in the order of the day, then anything set aside, then what is done, sunk to the bottom and dimmed.
  2. Not today. A routine you are not doing today can be set aside without deleting it. Not everyone does every routine every day.
  3. Every chore and routine. The whole list.
  4. What holds you. Your rules, corner time, and your own list of what is pending.

For a caregiver acting on their little, this tab also holds Set a punishment, Send to corner, Their routines and Their day. See Caregivers.

Talkโ€‹

Words.

SheetWhat it is
Ask"May I" from wherever you are standing, answered by the same engine as the site

ComfortBreathing, affirmations and safeword-aware grounding, with no network at all

For a caregiver acting on their little, this tab also holds Send a check, Praise, Note and They asked.

Moreโ€‹

The rest, and then settings.

  • Check out. Pick the trip kind, work a list built from your dynamic, set a time to be back, and get cleared to leave. A trip with no clock is an open trip. It is never late. It carries a twenty-four-hour safety check as its only clock. If you are late on a timed trip the app asks whether you are safe first. Saying yes lands the consequence you chose. No answer, or a no, holds it and offers the safety page. Somebody in trouble is never punished for being in trouble.
  • Pause. Hold the day.
  • Supplies. What is running low off your real stock, and a "used my last one" key that feeds the low-stock alert and the shopping list. The diaper bag lives here too. It is a real packing list: a count of diapers from your own change rhythm, named from your stash, plus wipes, mat, bags, cream, spare clothes and a bottle. Rule reminders are one short note under the bag.
  • This phone. Notifications with buttons on them, NFC tags, keys and shortcuts, leaving and arriving, and smart-home signals. See Logging.
  • Settings. The face, who you are looking at if you are a caregiver, and the text-scale link to the Little Meter. On an Android browser this is also where the Android app is offered.
