Install on iOS (iPhone & iPad)

CaregiverBabyHub can be installed to your iPhone or iPad home screen as a Progressive Web App (PWA). This gives you a full-screen, app-like experience โ€” no App Store required.

Push notifications require installation

On iPhone and iPad, push notifications only work when the app is installed to the home screen. If you want to receive caregiver alerts on your iPhone, install the app first.

iOS version requirement

Installing the app and enabling push notifications requires iOS 16.4 or later. Check Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Software Update if you're unsure of your version.

Step 1 โ€” Choose Your Iconโ€‹

You have two icon options. Decide which you want before adding to your home screen:

OptionHow to installWhat the icon looks like
๐Ÿงธ Baby IconVisit caregiverbabyhub.com/install/babyThe CaregiverBabyHub baby icon
๐Ÿ’ผ Discreet IconVisit caregiverbabyhub.com/install/discreetA plain "Care Hub" icon

Open the appropriate page in Safari (must be Safari โ€” other browsers on iOS cannot add to home screen).

Step 2 โ€” Open the Install Page in Safariโ€‹

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Navigate to:
    • Baby icon: caregiverbabyhub.com/install/baby
    • Discreet icon: caregiverbabyhub.com/install/discreet

Step 3 โ€” Add to Home Screenโ€‹

  1. Tap the Share button (the box with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the Safari screen
  2. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen"
  3. Optionally change the name that will appear under the icon
  4. Tap Add in the top-right corner

The icon now appears on your home screen like any other app.

Step 4 โ€” Open the Installed Appโ€‹

Tap the icon on your home screen to launch CaregiverBabyHub in full-screen mode. It will look and feel like a native app โ€” no browser chrome, no address bar.

Sign in with your email and password if prompted.

Step 5 โ€” Enable Push Notifications (optional)โ€‹

After installing and signing in:

  1. Go to My Account (top-right of the navbar)
  2. Scroll to Push Notifications
  3. Tap Enable Push Notifications
  4. Tap Allow when the system permission dialog appears

You're all set โ€” your caregiver can now send you alerts to your iPhone.

Troubleshootingโ€‹

"Add to Home Screen" doesn't appear in the share sheet Make sure you're using Safari. Other browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Brave) on iOS do not support adding PWAs to the home screen.

Push notifications aren't arriving

  • Make sure the app is opened from the home screen icon, not from Safari
  • Check that notifications are allowed: go to iOS Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ CaregiverBabyHub (or Care Hub)
  • Make sure you enabled push notifications in My Account after installing

The app opens in Safari instead of full-screen You may have tapped a link that opened in Safari. Always open the app by tapping your home screen icon.

I want to change from the baby icon to the discreet icon (or vice versa) Delete the current home screen icon, then visit the other install page and add it again.
